高中時期開始接觸薩克斯風與爵士樂，十九歲開始自組樂團並參與職業演出，於台北各大爵士pub均有豐富的演奏經驗。在台灣期間爵士樂師事於董舜文與謝啟彬兩位老師。2005年夏天考取比利時荷語布魯塞爾皇家音樂院爵士音樂系。前後於 John Ruocco 以及 Jeroen Van Herzelee 的指導之下於2010夏天畢業並取得碩士學位。
風格橫跨傳統、現代、放克、拉丁、前衛。
足跡遍佈許多比利時知名展演場所。
曾經於2007年受台灣駐歐盟辦事處之邀請在布魯塞爾所舉辦的 Taiwan Night 台灣之夜晚會和2010年的台灣美食節之中的音樂會演出.
Tseng Tseng Yi (born in 1980) is a Taiwanese jazz musician.
Completed his jazz-piano master studies at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels, Belgium. He studied piano with Diederik Wissels and Nathalie Loriers and participated in the Siena Jazz Workshop with Kenny Werner and John Taylor in Italy . During his studies, his own band Tseng Tseng-Yi Trio also performed in Musée d'Instrument de Musique.
Once moving back to Taiwan his name and fame quickly spread all over the island. Being amongst others the pianist for Orbit Folks, one of the most active bands in Taiwan, Tseng Yi has also become one of the men mostly heard behind the keys. Influenced by all the many greats of jazz, Tseng Yi has a great understanding of jazz tradition but also great ear for more modern sounds and innovation. He is clearly a very intuitive improviser and a very supportive accompanist.
